Mountain biking event, Garmin Titan Desert, is expanding its footprint with the launch of the Titan Series. Landing in Saudi Arabia for the first time, and taking place from 29th January to 1st February 2020, a new off-road new experience in the Middle East awaits a limited field of 150 riders.
The organising team adds that amateur cyclists from Spain, Andorra, France, Germany, Bahrain, Costa Rica, Italy and Luxembourg will ‘encounter all the ingredients that make the Garmin Titan Desert a special experience.’
Athletes in Saudi Arabia will encounter four stages and a 376-km route concocted by the organisers in the region of Ha’il, in the north of the country. With a mixture of rocky and sandy terrain, riders will be test over 3,424m of elevation gain.
85% of participants in Saudi Arabia have previously taken part in the Garmin Titan Desert in Morocco, which in 2020 takes place from 19-24 April. This popular event will see 700 riders take on a 639-km route in the Merzouga region of Morocco, split into six stages with a total gradient to climb of 7,629 m.
‘This race has already cast its spell on five-time Tour de France winner Miguel Indurain, as well as Sylvain Chavanel, who also took part in the 2019 edition.’
