British technology company McLEAR will support One Running Movement across its event portfolio for 2020 and beyond, contributing to its mission to ‘inspire current and future generations to embrace regular physical activity and #MoveForLife.’
One Running Movement offers non-competitive, virtual and live cumulative running events for schools at both the half marathon and marathon distance, which are part of Schools Running Movement. It also offers virtual and live direct entry events across the UK for all from age 13+.
The live events bring everyone together to run the last 1.1 (Half Marathon) or 1.2 (Marathon) mile at a track or venue, where the runners receive a medal and a carton of water at the finish.
‘By encouraging school pupils, siblings and families to get active and rewarding them along the way, One Running Movement is playing an important part in encouraging both youngsters and adults to develop healthy habits to exercise regularly, improve wellbeing, reduce screen time and build confidence through sport.’
A leader in smart ring payments, McLEAR is highlighting how wearable technology is ‘changing the way people can make payments’.
The McLEAR Smart Ring is a small, lightweight device that allows the user to make contactless payments by simply tapping their hand – removing the need for bank cards and phones and enabling a ‘quick and seamless transaction’. According to the company, ‘the technology offers a high-quality user experience and puts McLEAR at the forefront of the manufacture of electronic smart rings and security systems’.
With technology an increasingly important part of One Running Movement, the top tier partnership with McLEAR is seen as an ‘exciting step that will help to drive the movement forward’. Every McLEAR Smart Ring purchased via mclear.com/one contributes to generating gifted places for primary school children in the Schools Half Marathon or Schools Marathon.
One Running Movement Director Rebecca Richardson commented, “We are delighted to welcome McLEAR as a Foundation Partner for One Running Movement. Technology is important to what we are doing and how we are communicating with our audience, and McLEAR is very much aligned with us and supportive of our mission to make a difference to future generations. We are proud to develop this partnership at this exciting time of growth for One Running Movement.”
Daniel Blondell, COO at McLEAR, added, “It is wonderful to join One Running Movement as a Foundation Partner and be part of this inspiring movement that is changing lives across the country from the age of 4 upwards. We are very much looking forward to working with Rebecca and Joe to drive One Running Movement forwards together and bring exciting future developments to the partnership.”
