Focus on cycling industry, as Ty Daugherty joins ‘super magnesium’ company ALLITE

Ty Daugherty has recently taken on the position of New Business Development Manager for material science company ALLITE. He will be focusing all of his efforts on the global cycling industry, and has 25 years of experience in management roles for well-known brands including Speedplay, Reynolds Cycling and Fulcrum Wheels.

Founded in 2018, ALLITE is a full-service material sciences organization. It develops and manufactures high-performance, rare earth magnesium alloys called ‘Super Mag’ for a diverse set of industries including cycling.

The company provides proprietary material science consulting, as well as offering raw magnesium ingot, producing semi-fabricated product, including extrusion and sheet/plate, and providing custom engineering, manufacturing, and fabrication on an international scale.

“We are very pleased to welcome Ty onboard the ALLITE team,” says Bruno Maier, President of ALLITE. “His experience and depth of knowledge in the industry will help us establish new opportunities in cycling and demonstrate Super Magnesium’s transformational abilities in delivering light weight products.”

In this new role, Ty Daugherty will continue to build ALLITE’s relationships within the cycling industry to introduce Super Magnesium and its unique applications for bike frames and parts. Most recently, ALLITE worked with VAAST Bikes to manufacture the world’s first Super Magnesium frames.

“I’m looking forward to growing with ALLITE,” said Daugherty. “There are some interesting cycling projects that we are currently working on; and I am excited to share Super Mag’s possibilities with my network and other brands looking to apply innovative solutions to their bike manufacturing.”
