Carla Molinaro has broken the women’s’ Guinness World Record for LEJOG (Land’s End to John O’Groats) whilst wearing HOKA ONE ONE shoes.
As noted by the Guinness World Record team, the two points from the South West to North of the UK are 874 miles (1,407km) apart by main roads. It typically takes just under 15 hours to drive the distance by car. Carla’s running time was: 12 days, 30 minutes and 14 seconds.
Ahead of her LEJOG ladies Guinness World Record attempt, Carla Molinaro said, “When lockdown kicked in, [it] made me start to daydream about going on a running adventure. LEJOG (Land’s End to John O’Groats) popped into my head and it stuck there so I started to plan to run the length of the UK and decided to try and break the World Record at the same time.”
She continued, “As there are no races anytime soon it seems like the perfect time to combine a mega challenge with an adventure. To break the record, I need to run 110km a day for 12 days, which is slightly terrifying and exciting at the same time. I am excited to see what my mind and body is capable of.
“We all live in our comfort zones most of the time (because it is nice and comfy there) but I like to thrown myself out of mine at least once a year just to shake things up and see if I can set myself some new boundaries.”
