Sports Tours International, Club La Santa UK & Ireland and Freewheel Holidays have launched a nationwide UK search to find three unsung heroes. The ‘Holidays fit for Heroes’ competition will reward the winner with a £1000 travel voucher towards an active holiday in 2021.
The three leading travel brands specialise in active holidays – from sports and fitness at Club La Santa in the Lanzarote sun, to cycle tours, and travel to many of the world’s favourite marathon destinations.
Chris Bird, Chief Executive of Sports Tours International, said “COVID-19 has turned the world upside down and it has been a tough time for the travel industry, but no one has worked harder than our key workers, health workers and even those volunteering and giving up their time to help others.
“From the amazing people working in our NHS to the delivery drivers that keep our country moving, and volunteers who supported their local communities – we wanted to give something back to say a massive thank you and reward them for all their hard work.”

For those who know a teacher, health care professional, delivery driver or volunteer who has gone above and beyond in 2020, the travel operators are seeking nominations. They’re asking people to nominate anyone – or even themselves – who they think has made an impact in someone else’s life this year for their chance to be awarded with a £1,000 travel voucher. This can be used across any of the three travel brands.
The submission of nomination can be made online.
The closing date is 13th December, and the winners will be announced on 24th December 2020 and contacted via email.
