Leading off-road triathlon and trail run organiser, XTERRA notes that it is ‘minding the gap and keeping the community together with XTERRA Connect.’ The new Facebook initiative sees XTERRA’s network of coaches, crew and athletes go online to share industry insights, training tips, and more.
XTERRA Connect launched on Friday, March 20, in Victoria, Australia, with the ‘Swiss Miss’ Renata Bucher hosting a five-minute fitness challenge from the deck behind her house.
On Saturday, from his loft in Digne, France, 2005 XTERRA World Champ Nico Lebrun shared an 8-minute lower body workout to help athletes build mountain biking leg strength.
On Sunday, the series continued live on Facebook from Reno, Nevada, with three-time elite women’s XTERRA US Champion, Suzie Snyder, as she hosted a 30-minute interactive strength workout.
This week, XTERRA Connect goes to the Colorado Rockies where 13x XTERRA National Champ Josiah Middaugh demonstrates how to do a swim workout without a pool, and heads to Auckland, New Zealand, for a fine-tuned Tabata Interval workout with XTERRA Coach Benjamin Eitelberg.
“While we can’t get together face to face, we can still bring our faces to your places,” said XTERRA President Janet Clark. “These are tough times for sure, and what I’ve found most helpful is seeing and hearing from the good people in our XTERRA family and that’s what the XTERRA Connect Series is all about.”
Athletes can find past connections and follow along as the series rolls forward on Facebook.
