Specialist cycling website road.cc is looking for a new Editor. The company notes that ‘Jobs like this don’t come along very often – road.cc launched over 11 years ago and has had only one Editor …until now.’
The next editor will take over from Tony Farrelly, one of road.cc’s founders, as he moves to a new role focused on growing the overall business. The role is based at road.cc HQ in Bath, UK. As the company points out, ‘if you are a cycling journalist you’re probably pretty close by already. And If you’re not, it’s a very nice place to live.’
Requirements include
- Strong online editorial skills and experience
- Good people managing skills
- The ability to communicate well with your team, your readers and the management
- A good working knowledge of SEO
- A track record
- A bike (n+1)
- Energy
- A background in cycling journalism would be useful, but for the right candidate it won’t be essential
Applications close in mid-January. Further details, including a full job description and how to apply, can be found online via The Guardian. Candidates can also apply directly by emailing recruitment[at]f-at.co.uk with a covering letter and CV.
