ÖTILLÖ Swimrun World Series returns to Cannes for third edition

With ÖTILLÖ Cannes having previously taken place in 2018 and 2019, the Swimrun World Series is returning this month for a third edition. This time it will be very different, following a strict Covid-19 protocol.

On October 17-18 the city of Cannes in South France will host the latest swimrun showdown where ÖTILLÖ notes that ‘the racers will be both experiencing wild nature and the beauty of this city… It is almost as a high-speed sightseeing trip.’

The race organiser adds that… ‘For some it is for the adventure, for some it is for the experience, for some it is to race hard and for some it is to qualify to ÖTILLÖ, The Swimrun World Championship 2021.’

The race weekend will have close to 400 racers – with the majority from France. Some racers have travelled from Sweden and a few other countries. The usual turnout of racers from around 20 nations is not possible this year.

The Sunday race at ÖTILLÖ Cannes is part of the ÖTILLÖ Swimrun World Series and is a qualifier for ÖTILLÖ, The Swimrun World Championship in Sweden’s Stockholm archipelago. Six teams qualify at each ÖTILLÖ World Series event.

The 15th edition of the ÖTILLÖ Swimrun World Championship is scheduled for September 6th, 2021. The event features running and swimming across 75km, on and between 25 islands in the Stockholm archipelago.
