Rockay, a sustainable sportswear brand from Denmark, has launched its first head-to-toe apparel collection that has a ‘blend of athletic performance features, innovative fabrics, and sustainable product solutions.’
Rockay is a relatively new brand on the market, debuting in 2018 with the release of its now award-winning Accelerate running socks.
The recently launched apparel collection features:
- Performance body-mapping techniques (with placement of breathable mesh and durable stretch zones).
- Innovative design with storage solutions (for carrying a phone, keys, credit cards, cash, ID, and nutrition).
- Environmental features (Polygiene anti-odour technology, recycled materials, biodegradable poly-bags, natural inks etc.) that support sustainable and responsible consumption.
In addition to already using upcycled marine waste (such as ECONYL 100% regenerated nylon), Rockay products also remove from 10 to 77 plastic bottles from the ocean per product. This is thanks to an external donation to the ReSea Project.

The company points out that… ‘An initial first batch of 2.5 tons of plastic waste has already been removed from our oceans, on behalf of Rockay.’
Other materials used in the new collection include:
- SEAQUAL – recycled polyester also made from upcycled marine waste
- S.Café – raw material made from used coffee grounds
- 100% recycled polyester and elastane
In using eco-friendly yarns in the makeup of Rockay garments, such as SEAQUAL, compared to the use of a non-recycled polyester (made from crude materials), there is a claimed reduction of 60% in carbon emissions.
Daniel Chabert, Rockay founder, said “We’re excited to tackle new challenges in making top performance activewear and utilize as many sustainable practices as possible. This is especially because we all witness a big debate about ‘green-washing’ brands, and thus, it is our responsibility to do things the right way.”
