Le Coq Sportif and A.S.O are following up on the BBR and Bernard Hinault Tour de France collections with a third capsule collection launched to celebrate the 107th Grande Boucle. The new product tribute to Nice – which is hosting the start of the 2020 edition of Le Tour – was made available on 19 August.
Le Coq Sportif’s final pack honours the capital of the Alpes-Maritimes department. The fifth largest city in France is hosting the start and finish of the first two stages of the 107th Tour de France. The peloton will also roll out of the metropolis for stage 3.
For its tribute to the city on the French Riviera, known for the Promenade des Anglais, Le Coq Sportif sought inspiration from Mediterranean blue for a set of products built around a design of navy-blue horizontal stripes on the chest.
The chest bears the text ‘NISSA LA BELLA’ opposite the logo of the French brand, in reference to the ‘anthem and motto of the Pays niçois’.
Just like the first two previous Tour de France capsules (the BBR and Bernard Hinault packs launched this summer), Le Coq Sportif notes that the Nissa La Bella collection is made up of various cycling essentials:
- A high-performance jersey that combines polyester and elastane for increased elasticity, aerodynamics and a high-tech fabric.
- Two cotton t-shirts, one white and the other navy blue, for everyday use. The t-shirts follow the horizontal stripes design of the high-performance range. The white version is adorned with white, yellow and plum stripes to make the silhouette brighter.
- A white crew sweatshirt made of flannel for greater comfort.
- A label with the text “Le Tour de France depuis 1903 – Le Coq Sportif” can be found on the inside of each piece.
