Challenge Brasil, Challenge Family and the Professional Triathletes Organisation (PTO) are working side-by-side on Challenge Florianópolis, which is scheduled to take place in the Brazilian city of Florianópolis, on November 29, 2020.
For professional athletes, a prize purse of US$60,000 will be offered. In addition to the main event, an accompanying sports festival will offer up entertainment, sport and leisure options for the family across the weekend.
The festival runs between the 26th and 29th of November 26-29. It features the middle distance triathlon as the main event – with 1.9km of swimming followed by 90km of cycling and 21km of running. The race action for professional and amateur age group athletes, and will be held on Jurerê Internacional beach.
Challenge Family adds that ‘The partnership signed aims at valuing triathlon in Brazil and strengthening the event on a global scale, through the participation of athletes from different places in the world, besides, of course, providing the public with memorable moments and being able to cheer up close their idols in the sport.’
The top six professional athletes, and finishers in each middle distance age group, male and female, will qualify for The Championship, to be held in May 2021 at the x-bionic sphere sports resort in Samorin, Slovakia.
