2022 road & gravel cycling tours from Escape To The Pyrenees

Cycling guest house provider Escape To The Pyrenees has announced its calendar of fully supported and guided tours for 2022 to complement its catered self-guided stays.

Four tours are offered:

  • Tour de France week – see the race live and ride the stages
  • Giants of the Pyrenees – the most spectacular and challenging experience
  • Meet the Mountains – your introduction to the big climbs
  • Peak Gravel – the ultimate off-road adventure

Escape To The Pyrenees is located at the foot of Hautacam, the final Tour de France summit finish in 2022. Other famous climbs such as the Col du Tourmalet, Luz Ardiden, Col du Soulor and Col d’Aubisque are close by and within riding distance from the door.

There are many lesser known climbs to discover, too. According to the company… ‘Lac de Cap-de-Long, for example, is one of the most spectacular ascents anywhere, so there’s every reason to return and explore further.’

‘The gravel riding in the Pyrenees is gaining recognition as some of the most rewarding in Europe. The trail network is extensive, allowing routes that barely touch tarmac and take you to even more astonishing places than the roads. Everyone that rides the gravel here is blown away by it.’

All of the tours are built around guided riding in a group of no more than eight, with a support vehicle carrying food, drink, extra clothing and spare wheels. Tours are fully catered, including a big breakfast with many options, homemade ride snacks and drinks, homemade cake post-ride, and a three-course dinner each night. Food is seen as hugely important at Escape To The Pyrenees and it’s a big part of the overall experience.

Tours also include airport transfers (Lourdes, Pau, Toulouse), use of the secure garage and tools, kit laundry, and any mechanical assistance that may be necessary. Bike rental and sports massages can be arranged with local providers.

Cyclists can also stay for self-guided holidays and enjoy the same catering. Between tours, guiding is also available.

Tours are priced from €1135 for four days of riding and €1595 for six days’ riding. Self-guided trips are priced at €135 per person per night. All prices are based on sharing a twin room; single rooms are available with a supplemental cost.
