Mascot Sports kicked off the inaugural Marin Endurance Festival on the weekend of October 30-31, 2021, in San Rafael, California. For the first time, the Marin Triathlon and Marin Half Marathon were combined across the weekend. Participants were also able to take in a duathlon, half marathon, 10K and 5K.
“Mascot Sports thrives on building one-of-a-kind experiences for the endurance community and the Marin Endurance Festival exemplifies this mission,” said Ryan Dawkins, CEO of Mascot Sports.
“The feedback from athletes who participated this weekend was overwhelmingly positive and we can’t wait to come back and do it all again next year.”
An event release noted that… ‘The weekend of events welcomed over 2000 athletes from across the country with ideal race conditions, mostly sunny skies and warm temperatures. All events had a waterfront start and finish at Marin County’s McNears Beach in San Rafael and the festival area featured Bella Snow Soft Ale, Red Whale Coffee, live music from Airwaves, custom bottles from Polar Bottle, Hint Water, and more.’
“The theme of the weekend for athletes and staff alike was perseverance and the power of the human spirit to overcome challenges through sport,” said Mack Chew, VP of Operations at Mascot Sports.
“I heard a number of testimonies from participants who said competing in this event was a symbol of personal triumph after a challenging year. Although we had a last-minute change to our event course for the triathlon, the spirit of our athletes remained high; and we are grateful to be part of this amazing endurance community.”
The second annual Marin Endurance Festival is slated for October 2022.
