The winter edition of one of Austria’s most popular cycling races – the Ötztaler RadMarathon – is gearing up for a virtual climb of the Timmelsjoch Pass on December 4th, on ROUVY.
All riders completing the virtual cycling challenge by December 20th will have a chance to win accommodation and entry for the real-world race in 2022.
The Timmelsjoch Pass is a 30km uphill course in the Ötztal Alps, popularly known in Italy as the Passo del Rombo. It connects the Ötztal valley and the Italian province of South Tyrol.
ROUVY notes that currently almost 2,000 riders have registered for the challenge, and are in with a chance to the chance win Ötztaler Radmarathon Weekend prizes. These include:
- Two night stay in Sölden including a free starting place for the ÖRM 2022
- Ötztaler Radmarathon jerseys & bib shorts
- Ötztaler Radmarathon goodies
The virtual mountain race gets under way on December 4th, 2021, at 15:00 CET. Special guests from the pro peloton are Daniel Köll, Karl Markt, Patrick Hagenaars and Philip Handl.
The race will have a broadcast, streaming live on YouTube and Facebook. Starting at 14:30 CET the broadcast will include studio guests, reviews of past ÖRMs and prospects for 2022.
