Body temperature specialist, greenTEG, has been named a CES 2022 Innovation Awards Honoree for CALERA (Core Body Temperature Monitoring Technology) in the show’s health & wellness category.
This year’s CES Innovation Awards program received a record high number of over 1800 submissions. This announcement was made ahead of CES 2022, the world’s most influential technology event, taking place on January 5-8 in Las Vegas, NV and digitally.
CALERA technology can be integrated into wearable devices to monitor the wearer’s core body temperature. It is comprised of a set of thermal sensors and a proprietary machine-learning algorithm to calculate core temperature.
greenTEG notes that continuous tracking of core body temperature is important for patient monitoring, fever monitoring, workforce safety, sleep tracking, fertility monitoring, disease pattern recognition, and for a range of sports.
This Swiss-made technology is specifically designed to deliver real-time, remote and accurate core body temperature monitoring data for health & wellness.
greenTEG has already integrated CALERA into its CORE sensor, which has been adopted by athletes competing at the Olympics and during the Tour de France.
At the heart of CALERA, is a unique thermal energy transfer sensing technology (gSKIN) patented by greenTEG. Based on the monitored thermal energy change over time, a proprietary algorithm computes core body temperature in real-time.
greenTEG notes that ‘the compact, mass-produced,and miniature solution is easy to integrate into any device with skin contact and is finding its way into many MedTech, wearable and health and wellness applications.’
CALERA OEM integration has, for example, been integrated with Myant’s Skiin smart textile monitoring system – for movement/posture and core body temperature monitoring.
Visitors to CES 2022 will be able to discover greenTEG’s core body temperature monitoring technology for which the company has been honoured with CES 2022 In-novation Awards in three categories: Health & Wellness, Wearable Technologies and Fitness & Sports categories.
Dr. Lukas Durrer, CTO & co-Founder atgreenTEG said “These three CES Innovation Awards are a testament to our work and to greenTEG’s commitment over the last years to combine the best of design and technology, to support health and MedTech applications. We are looking forward to sharing our unique technology at our booth in Las Vegas at CES 2022.”
