Col de la Croix de Coeur one-day race on ROUVY

The Tour des Stations Challenge on ROUVY, which ran from January 18th to February 14th, brought together 5,700 athletes from around over the world to ride five virtual climbs of the Swiss-based cyclosportive.

Following this challenge, a poll was conducted to choose one of the five climbs to be selected for a one-day race. This gets underway on Saturday, 20th February at 10:00 CET.

The Col de la Croix de Coeur (20.8 miles and 1100m of climbing), was chosen by the Tour des Stations riders. This coming Saturday, the virtual race will start at Nendaz through to the highest point of the Col de la Croix de Cœur at a virtual summit of 2,174m.

“We were really surprised by the success of the Tour des Stations challenge,” said Nadège Fischer, Operational Manager of Tour des Stations organisation.

“The number of participants underline the importance of these kinds of events during this special time. People need to move and to set goals to move forward. With this race we offer the riders an opportunity to exercise together and to challenge themselves while virtually traversing enchanting landscapes for a fun and immersive experience.”

The global community of cycling enthusiasts and pros are invited to ride along from their homes, virtually. Guillaume Bourgeois, the last winner of the Tour des Stations Ultrafondo 2020, is ready to start the challenge and will be at the start of the race on Saturday.

At the end of the race, a draw will be held to determine the winners of three prizes for men and women:

  • The new Tissot T-Touch
  • A Specialized helmet SW Evade
  • A Tour des Stations jacket + polos + entry for 2021 race (scheduled for August 7, 2021)
