German smart sensor specialist TOCSEN has signed a collaboration agreement with French helmet and apparel manufacturer EKOÏ.
Alongside other helmet brands, such as UVEX and ALPINA, French brand EKOÏ will integrate the TOCSEN crash detection and emergency call system in its cycling helmets.
For the next cycling season, EKOÏ’s partnered pro cycling teams, such as COFIDIS, Lotto Soudal, Arkea Samsic, Qhubeka NextHash, Euskaltel Euskadi and the professional MTB team KMC Orbea, will be equipped with EKOÏ helmets integrating the TOCSEN Crash Helmet Sensors. They will use these special helmets particularly for their training sessions.
In the event of a cyclist falling and losing consciousness, the TOCSEN crash detection sensor alerts the emergency numbers and the community that has downloaded the TOCSEN app. The device can be purchased as an accessory to be applied to the helmet or, as in the case of some UVEX, ALPINA and the new EKOÏ helmets, it is already integrated.
EKOÏ unveiled its TOCSEN integrated helmet solutions at the Roc d’Azur expo in Fréjus, France. The helmets will be available for purchase online at ekoi.com from this autumn/fall. For an upgrade of helmets in use, the TOCSEN Smart Crash Helmet Sensor is already available at tocsen.com and in dedicated outdoor and cycling retail stores.
