Fabian Cancellara gives input on new Selle Italia SLR Boost Tekno Superflow saddle

Selle Italia has launched a new saddle – the SLR Boost Tekno Superflow. The high-end, full carbon product has been developed out of a partnership between the Veneto-based saddle brand and Dallara, a company specialising in the design and production of racing and road cars.

According to Selle Italia, the contribution of former elite cyclist Fabian Cancellara was also invaluable in the development of the new saddle offering.

“I have always believed in the technological development of our products and we are now enjoying an excellent partnership with Dallara that has led to the creation of this new saddle,” said Giuseppe Bigolin, CEO of Selle Italia.

“The SLR Boost Tekno Superflow saddle showcases the all-Italian drive towards the technological growth of cycling.”

Olympic gold medallist and former UCI World Time Trial Champion, Fabian Cancellara, gave his input into product development and is an ambassador for new SLR Boost Tekno Superflow saddle.

“It was a great pleasure to work with Selle Italia in developing this high-performance product,” said Cancellara.

“As a former professional athlete, I know what professional riders need, and I am very proud to have added my contribution to the process of creating this ultra-lightweight saddle, made entirely of carbon, the result of the research drive by Selle Italia towards increasingly advanced solutions in the cycling sector.”

With a recommended retail price of €449, the saddle is crafted with a carbon rail and full carbon cover – weighing about 95g for Selle Italia’s S3 idmatch size and 96g for the L3 idmatch size. It features Superflow technology, i.e., with a large central cut designed to relieve pressure on the pelvic area.
