For the 2021 season, wetsuit & apparel brand Orca is expanding its team of ambassadors with the addition of four new international elite triathletes.
Sarah True, Justus Nieschlag, Jodie Stimpson and Bart Aernouts are joining the brand’s ambassador roster, which already boasts athletes such as Sebastian Kienle, Maurice Clavel, Chelsea Sodaro and Emma Pallant.
‘As usual for the brand, these athletes have already begun to collaborate internally with the Orca team to offer the best products as well as participate in various projects related to sustainability and equality in sports.’
In a release the company added…
‘Orca, which has been providing wetsuits to the best athletes in the world for over 25 years, remains fully committed to the sport, despite the situation triathlon has been going through as a consequence of the pandemic.
‘This commitment to sustainability is also present within the team, establishing coherent and long-lasting relationships. One example of this is Sebastian Kienle’s connection to the brand, with which he has been closely collaborating for more than eight years.’
Orca notes that it is reaffirming its commitment to sustainability and care for the environment, and claims to be the ‘first wetsuit brand to provide plastic-free packaging.’
Sarah True
American triathlete, 39 years old, nominated as best ITU athlete of the year in 2012. She has participated twice in the Olympic Games (London 2012 and Rio 2016), and secured fourth place in the IRONMAN World Championship in Kona, 2018.
Justus Nieschlag
German triathlete, 29 years old. A gold medallist at the Triathlon World Championships in Huelva and Madrid, currently his main objectives are the 2021 and 2024 Olympic games as well as the IRONMAN World Championship in Kona.
Jodie Stimpson
The 32-year-old British triathlete is a two-time Commonwealth Games champion in the individual and mixed relay categories, as well as a runner-up at the ITU World Triathlon Abu Dhabi in 2017. Her goal for this season is the IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship.
Bart Aernouts
Belgian triathlete, 36 years old, professional since 2009. His favourite event is the Hawaii IRONMAN in which he secured second place in the 2018 edition. His resume also includes three medals in the European IRONMAN 70.3 Championship between 2012 and 2018. His main objective for this season is to qualify for repeat participation in Hawaii and to return to the podium.
