Next year, history will be made for women’s pro cycling as the route for the 2022 Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift has now been unveiled at the Palais des Congrès in Paris.
Zwift is on board with the event as a presenting partner in a four-year deal. The partnership will… ‘spearhead Zwift’s strategy to grow women’s cycling from the grass routes up.’
Everyone logging into Zwift today (October 14th) will have the opportunity to join in the celebrations of the new pro women cycling event – with all Zwifters able to wear the iconic Maillot Jaune virtually when in-game on the virtual cycling platform.
Riders from the UCI Women’s WorldTeam CANYON//SRAM Racing, the Cyclists’ Alliance, and the Internationelles are leading celebratory rides throughout the day.
The inaugural edition of the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift will start on July 24th, 2022.
Organised by A.S.O., the guiding principle of the new eight-stage race is to… ‘honour the past of the event whilst looking forward to the future and staying true to the standards of the present.’
The show will get on the road on the Champs-Élysées, which has hosted the final stage of the Tour since 1975 and where the first women’s yellow jersey will be awarded to whoever wins there on July 24th.
