HOKA ONE ONE runs with the Manchester Marathon

HOKA ONE ONE has been named as an official partner of the Manchester Marathon, one of the UK’s premier running events, noted for its ‘fast, flat and friendly route’.

Starting in 2021 and running through to 2022, HOKA’s official partner status aims to enhance the spectator experience and help to further broaden interest in the event, engaging with its strong following in the running community.

Runners of all abilities are expected to take part in this year’s event, scheduled for Sunday, 10 October, from some of the world’s most elite runners, to those who are taking on their first long-distance challenge.

A flat route, paired with local Mancunian support throughout the course, makes the Manchester Marathon a key event for hitting a personal best time.

‘The 26.2-mile challenge will be carefully planned considering any on-going restrictions that may continue later into the year. The priority of Manchester Marathon is to ensure a safe and enjoyable event for the many runners, supporters, crew, suppliers and of course the local community.’

Daljiat Gill, Head of Marketing at HOKA EMEA said “We are proud to partner with the Manchester Marathon, one of the leading, long-distance road challenges in Europe.

“HOKA was established with the intention of helping all runners perform, and here we have a great opportunity to continue our mission. The partnership is a natural progression in the road running space and we look forward to working together to provide a great experience for our combined communities.”

Nick Rusling, CEO of Manchester Marathon organiser, Human Race, said ‘We are delighted to have HOKA ONE ONE partner with the Manchester Marathon in 2021. Both the Manchester Marathon and HOKA are stand-out brands within the world of running, and it seems only natural that we would come together in a partnership.

“We will work together to provide first in class training support and guidance to ensure our participants achieve their personal goals, and to help them celebrate on event day. We will also work closely together on our mutual ambition to improve the environmental sustainability of the event.”

HOKA is no stranger to the world of road challenges and recently held a 100k world record attempt, Project Carbon X 2. On January 23, Jim Walmsley ran the 100k distance in 6:09:25, shattering the American record of 6:27:44, wearing the brand’s recently released Carbon X 2 shoe
