Informed Sport sponsors sports nutrition industry’s ESSNawards

Informed Sport has continued its commitment to the sports and active nutrition industry by sponsoring the European Specialist Sports Nutrition Awards (ESSNawards) 2021.

Informed-Sport is a global certification programme for sports supplements. It provides assurance to athletes and consumers that batches of certified products have been tested for substances prohibited in sport and have been manufactured to high quality standards.

Returning for a third year, the ESSNawards is positioned as the only pan-European awards ceremony dedicated to the sports nutrition industry.

Despite a difficult 18 months for many business sectors, ESSNA notes that interest and uptake in sport and exercise increased significantly during the pandemic. With more consumers prioritising active lifestyles and relying on nutrition products to help achieve their goals, the ESSNawards will seek to recognise and celebrate innovation and success in the sector.

The awards ceremony on 9 December 2021 will bring together a wide range of guest speakers and judges to share their expertise, and inspire attendees through stories of best practice.

Informed Sport is part of international life sciences company LGC Group. Currently, there are ~1,300 unique products certified on the program, with ~320 brands from across the world certifying products.

Adam Carey, Chair of ESSNA, said “We are delighted to welcome LGC and Informed Sport as sponsors of the ESSNawards 2021. Their support of our ceremony is a powerful indicator of the sustained growth, excellence and innovation that our sector continues to see.

“They are a crucial part of the sports nutrition industry and their dedication to quality assurance is key to driving the sector forward. I’m very much looking forward to working closely with LGC and Informed Sport on this year’s event.”

Terence O’Rorke, Business Development Manager at LGC, added “This has been another turbulent year for many businesses, but it has also created a wealth of opportunities for the sports and active nutrition market.

“Lockdowns saw an increased number of consumers take up, and fall in love with, exercise – which in turn has created a whole new pool of potential consumers of sports nutrition products as they look to progress their fitness goals. The ESSNawards are the perfect opportunity for any brand, no matter their size, to showcase their offering.”

Delivered by the pan-European trade association ESSNA, in collaboration with political communications agency Whitehouse Communications, the ESSNawards gives brands, organisations and ambassadors in the sports nutrition industry an opportunity to gain recognition for their contributions to the sector.

This year, new categories such as ‘Best Free-From Product’ have been added to reflect the changing and growing nature of the industry. Previous ESSNawards have welcomed hundreds of attendees from around the globe.
