PTO Collins Cup Series on Zwift

Zwift has announced a partnership with the Professional Triathletes Organization (PTO) to introduce a virtual taste of The Collins Cup pro triathlete event into homes worldwide. The virtual PTO Collins Cup Series kicks off on August 2nd with four weeks of community rides and runs.

Zwifters can sign up and choose to represent Team USA, Team Europe or Team International – each with their own unique in-game kit, with the goal being for each team to cover as much ground as possible. Whichever team covers the most ground on Zwift will give that team the first choice to select which pro athletes go head-to-head in the first round of the real-world Collins Cup in Slovakia.

Social rides and runs will vary from short, medium and long. Zwifters can help their chosen team by racking up as many miles as they can throughout the series. 1 point will be awarded for each km biked and 5 points awarded for each km run.

The week commencing August 23 is race week where double points will be awarded in any group ride or run.

The real-world Collins Cup is the PTO’s inaugural flagship event taking place on August 28th in Šamorín, near Bratislava, Slovakia. The new race format is modelled after the Ryder Cup, and will see teams of International, European and USA athletes pitted against one another.
