ASICS EMEA (Europe, Middle East & Africa) has reported a consolidated net revenue increase of 23% across all distribution channels in the year to date (YTD) ending September 2021. The company saw operating income increase significantly to €111 million in the year to date.
ASICS reported 24% year-on-year growth in wholesale channels YTD across EMEA with increases in Germany (26%), France (27%), UK (8%), Italy (49%) and Iberia (42%). ASICS EMEA also continued to see e-commerce growth, with an increase of 37% YTD.
ASICS EMEA, Chief Executive Officer, Carsten Unbehaun said “These results are a testament to the strength of our brand in EMEA. We continue to see unprecedented demand for our products as more and more people choose ASICS as their preferred brand.
“We see profitable growth across all product categories, from running to tennis and across all channels, underlining our positive momentum in the region.
“The current business environment remains challenging as COVID continues to impact our suppliers. Throughout the pandemic, we have been committed to supporting our partners. Now, with unprecedented demand for our products and capacity constraints, we have taken the decision to prioritise our wholesale partners over our own DTC channels.
“We will continue to work closely with our partners as we navigate the dynamic environment together.”
In 2021, ASICS reportedly gained 7.6% points market share in footwear in the ‘Made For and Used For’ running category above €90 in the UK, France, Germany, Italy and Spain. This is when compared to Q3 2020 according to the latest NPD data.
The ASICS London 10K returned to London in July, one of the first major running events to take place since the pandemic began in March 2020. 14,000 runners registered to take part in the ASICS sponsored event through the city.
In August, ASICS launched the latest version of its popular NOVABLAST 2 running shoe. The company added that… ‘the best-selling shoe returned with even more bounce thanks to an outsole with carvings inspired by a trampoline and FF BLAST foam sole.’
ASICS also showcased its latest trail innovation, inviting customers and ambassadors to test the FUJI LITETM 2 and TRABUCO MAXTM shoes on the iconic Transvulcania route in La Palma.
