SCOTT steps out with new Gravel shoes

The all-new Gravel shoes from SCOTT are positioned as being… ‘much more than just a simple fusion of road and mountain bike shoes.’ The bike firm notes that it has designed the shoes ‘from the gravel up’ to meet the needs of ambitious, rigorous two-wheeled adventures.

In a release, SCOTT noted.. ‘It needed to be light and fast like a road shoe. It needed the rugged durability of a mountain bike shoe. It needed to be comfortable enough to cross a continent in, with enough traction to walk up the steepest and loosest of terrain.

‘For us, it wasn’t enough to simply stop and settle at the intersection of road and mountain bike shoes. We took the best features from both, then further optimized the shoe for exactly the kind of adventures gravel bikes yearn for.

‘For those to who competition and flat-out speed are what gravel riding means to them, the Gravel Tuned is the perfect fit. A stiffer sole for ultra-efficient power transfer, paired with double BOA dials for a micro-adjustable fit, provides the edge that will leave competitors in the dust.’

For when getting off the bike and walking over various terrain SCOTT notes that the Gravel Pro shoe offers a slightly less stiff sole and provides more comfort and flexibility when walking. The Gravel Pro also comes in a women’s version which is available in smaller sizes.

The Gravel Tuned shoe feature a carbon fibre composite outsole with a stiffness index of 8 for power transfer. The outsole of the Gravel Pro shoe is made from a glass fibre composite with a stiffness index 6 for more comfort.

All models feature a newly designed Sticki Rubber tread that offers walking grip without adding unnecessary weight to the shoes.

Light and durable materials are utilised for the upper area of the shoes. The upper area is easy to clean after muddy rides. Added ventilation holes in the upper help with breathability.

SCOTT has included a BOA Fit System for fit and adjustability, and ErgoLogic insoles to maximize comfort for the foot. A recessed, two-bolt cleat system enables engagement with a range of pedal types, while providing grip when walking.
