Aiming to support sports recovery and performance, the new Riixo Calf Cuff combines compression with ice and heat treatment.
‘Designed with optimum Grade 2 gradient compression, the lightweight seamless cuffs compress the calves, improve blood flow, reduce inflammation and ease muscle tightness. Add to that the integrated gel pack for targeted ice or heat treatment and no need to plug into an energy source, the cuffs can be heated in the microwave or frozen before use.’
The company adds that… ‘a double insulated thermacase ensures the cuff retains its temperature for up to 5 hours, making it ideal for training and event days.’
The recovery cuffs are available in six sizes. Prices start at £76.98 for a single cuff to £128.99 for a pair. Every purchase includes a thermacase, wash bag and application sleeve.
Riixo’s Ice Ball completes the range, priced at £19.98. Combining the benefits of cryotherapy and traditional targeted massage, the ball has a liquid core which remains cold and can be frozen to hold its chill for up to six hours.
Riixo was founded by Cameron Johnston. The former professional rugby player’s career ended in a split second, at the age of 22, with a life changing spear-tackle and broken back. The next 10 years saw Cameron’s road to recovery and newfound passion for helping others.
Becoming a physiotherapist in the military, Johnston was deployed with the UN in South Sudan where he treated troops with muscle and joint injuries. From this, the ideas for recovery cuffs were sown and Riixo was born.
