British performance eyewear brand, SunGod, is ramping up its focus on sustainable production with the newly introduced Infinite 100% Recycled frame option. This option is available across SunGod’s range of lifestyle and performance sunglasses.
Created in 2013 from a crowdfunding campaign, SunGod has gone on to become established as a leading performance eyewear brand.
In a release, the company notes… ‘SunGod is an environmentally conscious brand – as one of the few companies to have always offered a lifetime guarantee across its complete line, happy to fix glasses for free, rather than letting them go to landfill. By offering direct-to-consumer, custom made glasses, items are only put together as and when they are ordered – reducing unnecessary over-stocking.’
The new Infinite frame has been developed to ensure that… ‘the manufacturing process can function as a complete life-cycle. The newly integrated supply chain uses waste polymer material, which is then melted down, and injection moulded into a new full frame piece, just like any other pair of SunGod frames.’
By utilising its current manufacturing process but with waste materials SunGod adds that it is ensuring the same build quality and durability as the previous SunGod product throughout the complete range without the use of raw materials. The frames remain at the same weight as the non-recycled version of each model.
As with the normal SunGod range, Infinite frames will be interchangeable and customisable with other lenses, and ear socks of the same model design – meaning that there are more than 1,100 options of designs for the lifestyle range, and considering every possible combination, 17,400 of the performance range.
Customisations became even more varied now too, with the introduction of new Rose and Chrome colourways lenses.

The introduction of the recycled frames furthers the brand’s progress towards B-Corp certification. The company adds that this is expected before the end of 2021 due to outstanding initiatives to help reduce its, and its consumer’s carbon footprint.
