From February 2-7, together with ELITE Cycling and Santini, ROUVY has launched an open virtual race series. The ‘Travel the World Racing Series’ will visit climbs and parcours in Italy, Australia, Switzerland, France and Spain.
ROUVY notes that the new format enables the ‘country battle’ allowing riders to represent and fight for their country’s place in the overall general classification ranking.
According to a release from ROUVY, the virtual racing experience, enabling athletes to ride iconic cycling locations or the next real-life event from home, is the core of its augmented cycling reality platform.
‘Exciting and immersive routes, terrific views, and great prizes from partners promise a lot of racing fun for the riders of any level during the virtual journey around the world. This time ROUVY takes athletes on a virtual World Tour with five races in five different countries. These 5 racing days will test cyclists for climbing, tactical and time trial skills, on both long and short routes.
‘Racing starts on February 2nd on Passo Sella, with a visit to the Italian Alps. Conquering the Passo Sella will involve the exciting exploration of one of the routes of Maratona dles Dolomites in 1:1 reality.’

Prize winners will be selected from random draws, so every athlete with at least one completed race has a chance to win. To be eligible for the main prize of the ELITE DIRETO XR, the winning rider should have at least finished any of the three races in the series.
Athletes wishing to participate in the Travel The World series must have a smart trainer, bike, and a device capable of using ROUVY, such as a phone, tablet, computer, or AppleTV, connected to the Internet. A valid ROUVY account is also required, and new riders are offered a 14-day free trial to participate.
