Taking place at the TOUGHMAN 2021 Championship event in Stony Point, New York, the USAT Long Course Nationals Multisport Festival has been given the go-ahead.
The organising team at TOUGHMAN has stated… ‘We are extremely happy to announce that all permits are approved with no restrictions for this year’s USAT Long Course Nationals Multisport Festival that will take place on September 25-26 in Stony Point NY.’
Formerly referred to the Multisport National Championships Festival, the new Long Course National Championships will feature long course triathlon, duathlon and aquabike as well as standard-distance aquabike. TOUGHMAN New York will also host Long Course Nationals in September 2022, with dates to be confirmed in due course.
The Aquathlon National Championships (swim-run) will now take place as part of the Legacy Triathlon weekend on July 16 in Long Beach, California.
The USA Triathlon Team USA qualifying races are: 70.3 triathlon, 70.3 aquabike, 70.3 duathlon and Olympic aquabike. There will also be a sprint triathlon, Olympic triathlon and swim run event taking place. Meanwhile, in addition, the USAT Youth NE Regional Championships will also take place across the event weekend. All participating athletes will have the opportunity to qualify for the 2022 World Triathlon Multisport Championships Festival.
The 2021 USA Triathlon Long Course Championships will take place at Lake Welch, Harriman State Park, 30 minutes north of New York City. The swim will take place in Lake Welch which is usually a mild temperature of 65-70 degrees in late-September.
The bike courses will take place entirely within the moderately-hilly Harriman State Park. The scenic bike course will pass seven lakes. The run course will have two legs that include a challenging hill that takes athletes back to the finish line.
