L39ION of LA has unveiled its 2021 team kit, which is the result of a design collaboration between the team, Zwift and Rapha.
In late 2020, Zwift confirmed that it had signed a multi-year sponsorship deal with L39ION of LA – the USA Cycling domestic elite team operated by Williams Racing Development in California.
“Stoked to have this kit finally on our backs,” said Justin Williams, Team Manager and founder of L39ION.
“I loved working on the design story behind this jersey – it’s the perfect expression of the ethos of our team and the synergy we have with Zwift. The only thing missing right now is a race number, and we can’t wait to get those pinned on soon.”
Williams continued, “Working in partnership with Zwift and Rapha was an incredibly rewarding experience creatively. We wanted to find a way to connect the team’s mission with the playfulness of Zwift.
“The inspiration for the design came from one of Watopia’s most distinctive features – the volcano. Volcanoes are disruptive forces, they are unstoppable, but ultimately, they are the creators of new worlds.
“This felt like the perfect way to tell the story of our partnership – two disruptive brands born in LA on a mission to make the world a better and more inclusive place.”
The team kit will be available to purchase from Rapha. All profits from sales of the team race jersey go back to the team to fund its development.
