Scheduled for July 15-17, 2022, the Trumer Triathlon in Austria, presented by Pure Encapsulations, is taking place for the 13th time in Obertum am See, located about 14km from Salzburg.
Pure Encapsulations is a nutrition and food supplements specialist and is supporting triathletes at the event, which will this year host the Austrian Olympic distance triathlon championships.
There are a total of seven different triathlon competitions across the event weekend, with the event positioning itself as a key triathlon festival in the Central Europe.
Two-time IRONMAN World Champion German Patrick Lange won the Trumer Triathlon half distance in 2021 with a current race course record time of 3:55:04. He said “This is what I call a real race: tough course, tough conditions, hard fighting competitors. A race organized with great attention to detail – and for everybody who loves to tri.”
Race Director Josef Gruber from the co-organising company G-Sport – Sport Solutions, Coaching & Events, said “In recent years, SalzburgerLand has developed into a real triathlon stronghold. No wonder, then, that not only are the best events here through the lakes, valleys and mountains, but also some of the sport’s top athletes call SalzburgerLand their home.
“The Trumer Triathlon and Festival has so much going for it. You can swim through the wonderful Lake Obertrum, take a hilly bike ride through the Salzburg Lake District and end up on a challenging run through and around Obertrum.
“We are very happy, to have professional athletes (and those athletes with great performance ambitions) competing in the Trumer Triathlon. We want to encourage young and motivated upcoming athletes on their way to professional sport, so we are happy to support them with a free starting place and, depending on the possibilities, with accommodation.
“For us, the registration as a professional athlete is also important in order to guarantee the fullest possible allocation to the professional start wave.”
