BMC is expanding into the endurance e-road cycling category with the launch of its new Roadmachine 01 AMP X. The premium road e-bike has power support via the TQ-HPR50 drive system.
The bike features a premium carbon frame and fork with internal cable routing in a sleek design. It comes with a premium carbon D-Shape Seatpost, wide tyre clearance, and advanced ICS MTT Suspension stem.
“Featuring a premium carbon chassis, the Roadmachine 01 AMP X paves the way for the next generation of road e-bikes,” said Conrad Glassey, Head of Product Management at BMC.
A release from BMC added that the TQ-HPR50 system provides a powerful, light, and near-silent ride, with a seamlessly integrated drive unit. While the global version of the bike offers assistance up to 25kmh, the Class 3 US version allows riders to hit the road with power support up to 28mph (45kmh).
The TQ-HPR50 system has the ‘harmonic pin-ring transmission’, accompanied by a 360 WH battery and a 2” fully integrated display. BMC adds that it the lightest e-bike system in its class – weighing in at 3,900g altogether.
Stefan Christ, Head of R&D at BMC, said “We always make sure to deliver nothing else than perfection on our 01 series. With the revolutionary power and natural riding feel of the brand-new TQ-HPR50 drive unit, we are sure to amplify the endurance ride.”
The Roadmachine 01 AMP X is designed to go along with the latest TQ power assistance system with an improved and relaxed endurance geometry for more rider comfort. It offers a taller stack height and short chainstays for extended manoeuvrability and a relaxed seating position.
With an option for multi-surface rides the bike comes with 35mm wide tyres as well as a clearance of a maximum measured width of 38mm for bigger tyres and rims.
The Roadmachine 01 AMP X fits a 1x drivetrain and sports BMC’s new ICS MTT x Redshift Suspension Stem. It offers fender mount capability, as well as integrated computer and light mounts on the handlebars. The 2-inch display of the drive unit fits into the top tube.
A custom BMC backlight is connected directly to the battery for extended life; and the computer mount offers installation of a front light.
“Stay versatile with a bike designed to meet modern riding demands. With premium versatility and integrated safety features, the Roadmachine 01 AMP X makes sure riders can get the best out of their ride every day,” said David Heine, Head of Marketing at BMC.
The new bike is available in six sizes (47,51, 54, 56, 58, 61) and two models. Roadmachine 01 AMP X ONE and ONE USA are available from November 2022 and cost €8499 (US$8899). Roadmachine 01 AMP X TWO is available from November 2022 and costs €7499 euros, with the TWO USA bike available from December 2022 at US$7899.
