The organising team at DATEV Challenge Roth powered by hep 2022 has reported that this year’s event reached a total of 145 million people.
This year’s 20th anniversary edition of DATEV Challenge Roth was held on July 3, 2022 – with Magnus Ditlev of Denmark and Anne Haug of Germany securing victory on the day. Citing a ‘new record result’ in its exposure, the event was reportedly shown live on more than 150 channels and platforms worldwide.
DATEV Challenge Roth powered by hep was broadcast worldwide in its entirety via live stream. BR Television also provided triathlon fans in Germany with images from Roth live on TV. Full race highlights were also shown on ARD Sportschau and ZDF in Germany.
Citing independent analysis by German research firm IRIS, the organisers noted that… ‘Overall, the race achieved a cumulative reach of over 145 million, more than ever before.
‘Triathlon fans and sports enthusiasts followed the race in 8,780 reports via the various national and international TV channels, the free livestream, print and online media as well as social media. In the previous year, this figure was 128 million, and 129 million in the final pre-covid year, 2019.’
Race organiser Team Challenge added that the event also achieved its best result in terms of PR value. This refers to the equivalent communication value, and was reportedly €98.9 million in 2022. This is an increase of 2.3% percent when compared to the PR value in the previous year (€96.7 million).
Race Director Felix Walchshöfer said “The value of the event underlines the enormous importance of the race for the district of Roth and the sport of triathlon in general.
“At this point, we would like to thank everyone who makes this positive development of the event possible and contributes to its success every year.”
