Organised by the Professional Triathletes Organisation (PTO), the 2022 Collins Cup, got under way on August 20th, featuring 12 elite athlete match-ups. The second edition of the event, at the x-bionic sphere sports resort in Bratislava, Slovakia, saw athletes from Teams US, Europe and International paired against each other.
Athletes went head-to-head-to-head over 100km – a 2km swim, 80km bike and 18km run. The race had three Olympic Champions on board and a host of world champion athletes.
Team Europe ultimately triumphed at the 2022 Collins Cup, successfully defending their title of a year ago from Team International and Team US. Having won eight of the 12 pro athlete match-ups, Team Europe claimed the Collins Cup trophy.

Modelled after golf’s Ryder Cup, the Collins Cup was introduced by PTO in 2021. With US$1.5 million on the line again this year, ‘the largest purse in the sport’, racing was broadcast to an international audience in more than 170 territories.
