Developed by Santini for the Tour de France, the Maillot Jaune range originally launched in spring 2022. The apparel and accessories collection aims to celebrate the uniqueness of the Tour de France through a collection of unique items.
‘The collection encapsulates the Tour de France’s symbolic value and boasts an unusual logo that can be interpreted either as a stylised view of a cyclist from above or an athlete with arms raised in victory.’
For the autumn/fall and winter, new items have been added to the capsule collection. Santini adds that… ‘Design-wise, the colours for the Maillot Jaune are ultramarine blue, black and yellow, creating an effortlessly sleek, minimalist look.’
Santini has created five apparel pieces and two accessories for chilly winter rides.
The soft warm thermal fleece Allez tights have a C3 pad, which has a protective shell-like structure with 3D ergonomic surfaces of different densities. The yellow Maillot Jaune logo and inserts combined with a reflective Santini logo boost wearer visibility out on the road.
The Allez long sleeve jersey is made from Hotwind thermal fleece and also features two yellow stripes against an ultramarine blue background as well as yellow details.
For very cold days, the Maillot Jaune collection also includes the Allez Vega Xtreme jacket made from Polartec Windbloc. The collar is lined with Polartec Alpha to keep the neck area warm whilst still allowing sweat evaporation. The rawcut sleeves are lined with fleece material topped by an outer layer of waterproof PU on the wrist.
To complete the look, Allez overshoes and gloves have been added to the winter collection.
There are two further items: the Le Maillot Jaune sweatshirt and wool technical sweater, which are both made from Polartec. The sweatshirt’s Polartec Windbloc fabric protects the wearer from wind, rain and wet while providing optimal breathability and thermal balance. The gently compressive Polartec Power Wool bi-component knit fabric, combines wool with synthetic fibres.
