California-based technical triathlon brand SPAERO Triathlon (formerly Wattie Ink), has announced partnerships with two icons of the sport, Craig Alexander and Andy Potts.
‘From input in product design to leadership roles with the SPAERO ambassador and Elite Teams, their involvement with the newly-formed triathlon apparel brand will be wide-ranging.’
“Craig Alexander and Andy Potts need no introduction,” said Spaero Triathlon CEO Ryan Cady. “Having their knowledge and experience will be invaluable to our teams and product development process.
“With all of our production in-house, we’ll be able to quickly integrate their knowledge and expertise as we design, test, iterate and manufacture the most advanced triathlon apparel in the sport.”
Craig Alexander is a five-time world champion (3x IRONMAN, 2x IRONMAN 70.3) and 12-time Australian national champion. In addition to his roles with the SPAERO Factory and Elite Teams, SPAERO will also be the official gear partner for his Sansego triathlon team.
Andy Potts is an IRONMAN 70.3 world champion, winner of the Pan Am Games, eight IRONMANs, and represented the US at the Olympic and Paralympic Games. SPAERO will be the official gear partner of Andy Potts Racing.
“Craig and Andy demand the best for the athletes in their programs,” said Karl Heigden, SPAERO Director of Sales And Business Development. “The addition of the Sansego and Andy Potts Racing teams to our custom portfolio is a huge credit to the SPAERO brand, and it’s all the more impressive when you consider that we’re just getting started.”
Headquartered in the birthplace of triathlon, San Diego, SPAERO adds that it… ‘will draw on its eight-year foundation of working with the most advanced fabrics to create a class-leading triathlon line with exceptional thermal regulation, superior aerodynamics and best-in-class technical designs.’
In addition to CEO Ryan Cady, the company team includes Head of Global Product Marirose Charbonneau; Director of Sales and Business Development Karl Heigden; Chief Marketing Officer Allyson Davis; and Chief Operating Officer Brennan Cassidy.
SPAERO products are designed and tailored in the company’s two wholly owned and operated facilities in San Diego, CA and Mexicali, Mexico. The brand also offers a full line of custom triathlon gear for teams, clubs, and companies.
