British performance eyewear specialist, SunGod, has announced its certification as a certified B Corp firm with a strong score of 93.7. (The company notes that the passmark is 80, and ‘ordinary businesses achieve an average score of 50.9.’)
The announcement, which comes after a 20-month assessment period, helps to bolster SunGod’s credentials as a sustainable brand… ‘committed to a triple bottom line of people, profit and planet.’
B Corp Certification is a designation that a business is meeting high standards of verified performance, accountability, and transparency. This covers a range factors – from employee benefits and charitable giving to supply chain practices and input materials.

Sustainability has been core of SunGod’s business practices since its inception. The company, for example, has a Lifetime Guarantee, which has repaired over 7,000 pairs of sunglasses for free since launch (helping to keep products in circulation and out of landfill).
