TRIBE’s Run For Love fundraising multi-day ultramarathon has finished in Croatia, having raised over £150,000 to tackle modern slavery.
The gruelling race saw the TRIBE team of 150 people run a 260km multi-day ultramarathon, through remote Croatian National Parks and along mountain ridgeways. Runners battled stress fractures, heat exhaustion, twisted ankles and encounters with bears along their journey.
Run for Love was established in 2013 when TRIBE Co-Founders Tom Stancliffe, Guy Hacking and Rob Martineau completed the first Run for Love – a 1,000 mile run across Europe, from Odessa to Dubrovnik, to set up the first home for trafficked children in the UK.
Together, the TRIBE community has raised over £1,300,000 towards frontline anti-slavery projects and survivor support. They have helped to empower more than 400 survivors, funded two new survivor homes and developed the TRIBE Hike for Freedom: Survivor Fitness & Wellness programme.
Co-founder Tom Stancliffe said “We are delighted to have raised over £150,000 through this year’s Run for Love in Croatia. It was fantastic to see all the participants completing the challenge of their lives, all to raise money to tackle modern slavery.
