The Spanish island of Mallorca will host the second edition of the Mallorca 140.6 Triathlon on September 24, 2022.
The race, which is set to take place in Playa de Muro (north part of the island), offers up a full and half distance. The organisers add that the field is limited to 1,000 participants.
The event features a swim in the quiet bay of Alcudia, a fast bike course (with roads closed to traffic), and a flat run course. There is a €10,000 prize pot for professional athletes.
The event now aims to become one of the best triathlon races in Europe with ‘top quality organization and going back to the origins of the sport.’
The organisers add that ‘non drafting will be guaranteed’, having extended the bike drafting distance from 12m to 20m, with a number of marshals along the course.
This long distance triathlon is organized by local company Kumulus, which has experience in organising international events in Mallorca, including the Zafiro Palma Marathon, Portocolom Triathlon, Long Course Weekend, Powerman Mallorca Duathlon, Spartan Race Mallorca, Super League Triathlon and past editions of IRONMAN Mallorca.
