Vitus rides with Sian Rainsley and Tom Bishop

This weekend, British triathletes Sian Rainsley and Tom Bishop make their UK racing debut aboard Vitus Bikes at the AJ Bell Leeds World Triathlon Championship Series race. The two elite athletes are looking to make their case for Commonwealth Games selection and start the journey to Paris 2024 Olympic qualification.

The pair, who have also been a couple since 2014, are both focused on a podium finish to be in with a chance of making the team for the Birmingham 2022 games.

The couple jointly approached Vitus to help them shave time on the bike and gain vital places that could make the difference in making the team.

In Leeds, both will be riding the award-winning ZX-1 EVO, Vitus’ flagship aero race bike. In other races, Bishop will also be riding the Auro TT bike, which he will debut at Challenge Wales the following weekend.

Sian Rainsley, who currently sits 4th in the World Triathlon Championship Series rankings, said “It’s great for Tom and I to be working with Vitus; we love the bikes, the steering control and power transfer.

“I have already been putting the bike to good use in Super League Triathlon’s Arena Games where power transfer is key, and in WTCS Yokohama.

“This weekend is important for us both in terms of qualification for the Games. Our results will be key in making the case to the selectors as to why each of us deserves a Commonwealth Games start slot for Team England.”

Tom Bishop said “It’s been a real boost to ride great equipment and support from a brand that is there for athletes. We feel lucky as we know not all pros have been able to get such great support.

“I am really looking forward to pushing hard in both my upcoming races on the road and TT bikes and getting back to pre-2020 results.”

Alex James, Vitus Global Brand Manager, added “Tom and Sian are dedicated athletes, passionate about their sport and this is the epitome of a Vitus rider, whether pro or amateur. We look forward to playing a role on their journey to 2024 and beyond.”

Tom and Sian are supported on their journeys by brands such as Vitus Bikes, HUUB, SunGod, webuycycle.co.uk, and On Running and ASICS respectively.
