Off-road triathlon event specialist XTERRA has announced that Doug Hall has joined its leadership team as General Manager for the XTERRA Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) regions.
Hall, 35, is the first to hold the newly created role to focus on brand expansion, quality control, and day-to-day business operations in the EMEA region.
The long-time elite off-road triathlete from Great Britain adds a wealth of athlete and business related experience to the position. He has run performance training centres for British Triathlon, served as the head of the XTERRA certified coaching program, founded his own triathlon coaching businesses, and managed sales accounts for UK based brand Supernutrients.
“The EMEA region is a hotbed for XTERRA right now,” said Doug Hall, who has been part of the XTERRA family as an athlete and administrator for more than a decade.
“We pioneered the made-for-TV Short Track and XTERRA long-distance racing formats. We’re hosting 25+ traditional XTERRA off-road triathlons including the World Championship in Italy, and we are in the ground-breaking stages of producing an intriguing set of new XTERRA Trail Run World Series race offerings.
“I’m really excited to be in this position at this time. We have great momentum heading into the 2023 season, and I’m looking forward to joining XTERRA’s truly talented and motivated global team in a unified effort to improve participant experiences across the board.”
J-D Cousens, XTERRA VP of Operations & Global Marketing, said “With all these new developments on the go, it’s very comforting to know that we have someone like Doug on our side, making sure we hit our straps and continue successfully down this exciting new path.”
In his new role, XTERRA added that… ‘Hall will work closely with XTERRA event directors and partners across the EMEA region to build and produce successful events that drive growth and brand loyalty.’
