BigMat, a leading independent building materials retailer in Europe, has become an Official Partner of the 2023 UCI Cycling World Championships. The agreement establishes BigMat as the Official Building Products Retail Partner for the event, featuring 13 UCI World Championships across various venues in Glasgow and Scotland from August 3 to 13, 2023.
BigMat has a long-standing association with cycling, having sponsored UCI teams since the mid-1990s and partnering with multiple UCI World Championships held in France in 2022. The company’s support extends beyond the competitive aspect of cycling, as it promotes the sport as a lifestyle choice and an environmentally-friendly mode of transportation.
UCI President David Lappartient expressed excitement about having BigMat as an Official Partner, emphasising the company’s contribution to promoting the joys and benefits of cycling to a wider audience. Trudy Lindblade, CEO of the 2023 UCI Cycling World Championships, also welcomed BigMat’s involvement, highlighting their past support for major cycling events and their commitment to the sport.
