Urban exploration and experience platform, District Race, is expanding how people can engage with cities while promoting physical activity and supporting global reforestation efforts.
Headquartered in Singapore and originally founded in 2017, District Technologies’ key offering is District, which is billed as a first-of-its-kind urban exploration app. The app combines location-based tracking and augmented reality technology to motivate participants.
Users of the District app can discover cities and level up their fitness by completing in-app challenges built around an urban environment. District Race events around the world are also built around the District app.
The District Race event series aims to merge the digital and physical worlds via a city-wide scavenger hunt, fitness challenge, and adventure, all rolled into one.
Using the District App, participants embark on journeys through their cities, racing against time to collect checkpoints and complete a wide range of physical and mental challenges.
Launching in 100 cities across the globe, each race contributes to a mission of planting 100,000 trees worldwide. In partnership with reforestation organization, One Tree Planted, District Race adds that it aims to… ‘create a greener, more sustainable planet.’
