Compatible with its BibTag timing products, event timing firm MYLAPS Sports Technology claims that its new BibTag Smart Decoder is the smallest and lightest UHF (Ultra High Frequency) decoder in the world of sports timing.
Aimed at making the lives of event timers easier, the new decoder is the latest addition to the BibTag product line. The BibTag system is used at many leading international marathons, such as Boston, Chicago, Mexico City, Hong Kong, and Rotterdam.
The new BibTag Smart Decoder is 55% lighter compared to the previous BibTag Portable Decoder. Aimed at being more user friendly, it has a removable battery which can be swapped during a race, and a new multi-colour display is also visible when the lid is closed. The BibTag Smart Decoder is compatible with all products in the BibTag portfolio, such as the EasyMat detection mats, and SideAntennas.

MYLAPS has also announced that John Hovius joined the company on September 1, 2023. Hovius becomes part of the MYLAPS team and will support its international event timing partners.
