Super League Triathlon is hitting the city of London on Sunday August 27, 2023, with Olympic gold medallists competing in the UK leg of the 2023 Super League Triathlon Championship Series.
Super League London is free to spectate, making it an affordable day out for sports fans, families, and Londoners. Professional racing starts in the heart of the UK’s global financial district at 14:00 BST, with the elite women taking to the water first, followed by the elite men. Fans can follow the action with live on the ground MCs and big screens.
Once the curtain falls on London, the Championship Series continues to Toulouse (France), Malibu (USA) and NEOM (Saudi Arabia) to crown the men’s and women’s series champions 2023.
Returning to West India Quay for its fifth anniversary, Super League London 2023 has a star-studded line up featuring many of the world’s best triathletes. Britain’s triple Olympic medallist Jonny Brownlee will be in action alongside London hometown hero, Olympic and Commonwealth Games gold medallist, Alex Yee.
London’s Enduro format sees all elite international athletes take on three back-to-back rounds of non-stop swim-bike-run. This features a 300m swim, 4km bike and 1.6km run, all at bustling West India Quay. The area has trackside bars and restaurants and easy access via three major London tube lines and public transport.
With both the male and female races predicted to clock in under 60 minutes, the athletes don’t have long to execute their strategies. And with one of the biggest prize purses in the sport (US$1.24 million), every second counts. Also among the stars flying the flag for Britain are Beth Potter and Sophie Coldwell. The athletes also compete for teams, with a British-led line-up, the RTP Sharks, giving plenty to cheer for the home crowds.
