Originally founded in 2003 by two former international triathletes, Hélène Salomon and Craig Watson, French apparel specialist Kiwami is celebrating its 20th anniversary.
The company has established itself over time in the fields of triathlon and trail running – from products such as the AMPHIBIAN tri-suit and EQUILIBRIUM trail shorts.
On the occasion of its 20th anniversary, Kiwami has released a limited edition, ‘all black’ version, of its SPIDER LD AERO tri suit.
Following the upheaval caused by the COVID pandemic in 2020 and 2021, Kiwami now makes 98% of its products near Pau in the south west of France. The company adds that it manufactures in order to reduce its environmental footprint by using only the materials necessary for the manufacturing – with minimal waste and no overstocking.
The Nation Collection is also the latest range launched by Kiwami. It includes customized tri-suits, t-shirts, cycling outfits, and swimwear, all designed in the colours of different countries.
Since 2003, Kiwami has been outfitting many of the world’s best teams and athletes. Today Kiwami outfits more than 350 clubs and teams with technical teamwear kit. It also equips New Zealand triathlete Hayden Wilde, who is a member of the French club Lievin Triathlon.
The company founders said “Our commitment to French manufacturing goes beyond the pride of displaying the ‘Made in France’ label. It is a deep conviction we hold to support the local economy, preserve jobs, and contribute to the sustainability of our industry.
“We prioritize made-to-order production to avoid overstocking and reduce our environmental impact by minimizing waste. We are proud of what we have achieved so far, but this is not the end. The next 20 years will be even more exciting and filled with new challenges to overcome.
