The Lisboa Triathlon, now designated Lisboa Triton1, claims to be the first European event to have an official sports nutrition that is 100% organic, vegan & natural brand. The triathlon in Portugal has tied up with Belgian firm INNERME, which in Portugal is represented by MOONSPORT.
This race, which will take place on May 6th, at Parque das Nações in Lisbon, is part of the TRITON World Series and is positioned as one of the first major races of the 2023 European triathlon calendar.
According to Paulo Passos Leite, President of LOFF and organizer of Lisboa Triathlon, “By integrating the TRITON World Series, we will be at the forefront of environmentally sustainable sport events.
“There is a compromise to reduce and increasingly dematerialize merchandizing and to opt for producing reusable materials. Nevertheless, we wanted to go further. We wanted to have a planet-friendly official sports nutrition.
“Thus, we spoke with MOONSPORT, which only represents brands with these values, and the Belgian INNERME became the nutrition partner of this event.”
He added “This is an exceptional milestone for the city of Lisbon and for Portugal. We are the first in Europe to have a triathlon race whose official nutrition is 100% organic, vegan & natural. And we will benefit over 300 athletes from 20 countries.”
