Melbourne-based cycling apparel brand MAAP has launched Atmos – billed as its most lightweight, waterproof and packable range of jackets and vests to date.
Created as a versatile outerwear layer, Atmos is constructed using Pertex Shield fabric. It uses a permeable nanofibre membrane to give a 20,000mm hydrostatic head waterproof rating with high levels of breathability.
The featherweight high performance fabric is just 68gsm (grams per square metre), resulting in the men’s jacket weighing 120g and vest just 90g (size medium) and women’s jacket 110g and vest 85g (size small).
The lightweight nature of the fabric and minimalist approach to the design makes the Atmos range MAAP’s most packable garments to date. An articulated cut has enabled unnecessary bulk to be stripped out, while in-built stretch delivers improved freedom of movement fit whether layered on top of a lightweight summer jersey or a thicker winter option.
Bonding key areas such as cuffs and hems has further helped enhance the pack-down capabilities – fitting in a jersey pocket with room to spare.
MAAP has opted for minimalist graphics and a range of colours. Additional reflective features aid visibility in all conditions.

Aligned with the launch, MAAP will be hosting a global series of rides with its ambassadors and retail partners where riders will be able to put their new Atmos jackets to the test. These are taking place in over destinations around the world including Melbourne, LA, Miami, Osaka, Berlin, Amsterdam and Vancouver.
