The Kinomap for Races race course simulation platform is continuing its filming tour of North American events with the 2023 Gorham Savings Bank Maine Marathon this weekend.
Held on Sunday, October 1, 2023, the Maine Marathon features a full marathon, half marathon and relay race, and supports a number of fundraising causes.
Kinomap’s platform allows athletes to simulate participation in a live event, with a cardio device automatically providing incline changes to mirror the hills of a route. On-site video of a race day route, displayed on a tablet, TV or smartphone, further enhances the experience and helps to broaden the reach of events.
The Maine Marathon ‘Run For A Cause’ program helps non-profits recruit people to run and raise money for worthy causes. In 2022 alone, the program helped raise over US$370,000. Since 1997, nearly US$6.4 million has been contributed to regional and national charities.

The Maine Half Marathon features an out-and-back course with rolling hills and views of the Portland skyline, the Back Cove, Casco Bay and autumn/fall foliage. The Half Marathon is USATF certified, and the full Marathon is a Boston Marathon qualifying event.
