New bib shorts released by Santini for spring/summer season

In Santini’s collection for the spring/summer 2023 season, there are four types of bib shorts targeting different conditions that can be encountered during a ride. Models designed for the male and female body with different characteristics and positions, claim to guarantee a wide offering for lovers of two wheels.

Santini adds that the choice of cycling bib shorts has always been difficult and depends on a variety of factors, both subjective (linked to personal needs) and objective (linked to weather conditions). It has therefore released four models for 2023, in both the men’s and women’s lines: Redux Speed, Unica, Plush and Karma Bengal.

Redux Speed
The Redux Speed Bib shorts claim to fit like a second skin and are constructed to minimize air resistance for aerodynamic performance. Designed for long rides with muscle support given by an adherent fabric, there are raw-cut elastic braces crossed on the back. The bib shorts also have a raw cut at the bottom of the legs. Internally, there are coloured grippers that hold the garment in place and fit snugly around the leg to enhance the aerodynamic effect.

The men’s model is equipped with the top-end C3 pad, characterized by a protective shell with an ergonomic 3D surface with differentiated density and gel inserts in the area of the Ischiatic bones. The Redux Speed for women has a C3W designed pad, designed for the anatomy of the female body.

RRP – Redux Speed Male: €239.90 / £220
RRP – Redux Speed Female: €219.90 / £200

Unico
Santini notes that the Unico shorts are made with an Italian high-performance microfibre that gives a feeling of softness and lightness on the body while providing, at the same time, light muscle compression. These shorts are made with the smallest possible number of seams, which are thermos-sealed to reduce the risk of abrasion.

The male model has elastic and raw-cut braces with multi-coloured graphics inside, while the female model has a body structure with flat straps crisscrossed on the back and a large breathable mesh area on the front.

Breathability is aided in the male model thanks to a perforated structure on the back of the braces. The C3 pad is used in the men’s shorts, and the C3W pad is used in the women’s, both with an ergonomic 3D surface in different densities and shock-absorbing gel inserts for long rides, up to 8 hours.

RRP – Unico Male: €199.90 / £180
RRP – Unico Female: €169.90 / £155

Plush
The Santini Plush bib shorts are soft on the skin and made from recycled polyamide. The fabric is light and particularly compressive, to help support muscles during a ride. In addition to the compressive effect, braces are elastic and seamless, while on the back they have a breathable elastic mesh panel.

The bib shorts have a raw cut in the bottom of the leg, and internally, there is a coloured silicone grip that keeps the garment in place. This garment has a GITevo pad in the men’s model and a GILevo pad in the women’s line for rides up to 7 hours and reflective details on the back of the legs.

RRP – Plush Male: €169.90 / £155
RRP – Plush Female: €139.90 / £125

Karma Bengal
To add a touch of colour to the wardrobe, the Karma Bengal bib shorts feature a grippy, colourful stripe area. Particularly breathable thanks to the Polartec Delta panel on the back, this fabric helps to act as a cooling system, facilitating heat transfer from the body and managing the sweat of the skin, for the hottest summer days.

The Karma Bengal’s leg area is made from slightly compressive Sitip Thunderbike Power fabric and has a colourful and grippy area at the bottom of the leg.

Selected GITevo pads for him and GILevo pads for her with a gel core help to absorb impacts for medium and long rides.

RRP – Karma Bengal Male: €169.90 / £125
RRP – Karma Bengal Female: €139.90 / £125
